The perfectly uncomplicated chocolate sauce for those who prefer desserts to be on the “dark side”

(Makes about 1 1/2 cup)

  • 60g cocoa powder
  • 200ml water
  • 120g caster sugar
  • 25g butter, diced
  1. Combine cocoa powder, water, and sugar in a saucepan and stir over heat until sugar dissolved. Bring to boil.
  2. Take off fire and stir in butter until melted. Then strain through a sieve.
  3. Sauce can be served hot or cold (refrigerate for at least 2 hours)
